![]() Remember when I said that there were 20 variations in total for the “Topps Attax Baseball” series? The ones we are focusing on are the 2009 Golden Foils, which are the oldest versions of the golden foils found in the series. ![]() I can’t go any further in this article without giving credit to Sean a fellow SABR member and one of the only people in the world who actually cares about these cards…or so I thought (more on that later).Īfter my first article on this matter, we began digging deeper and deeper into this iceberg, and it’s safe to say that the findings did not disappoint. And today, I will share some of the findings. What seems to be a simple game from the outside actually holds a few secrets inside. ![]() However, this article isn’t about the “Topps Attax Baseball” card variations. The card designs were bland at best, and to be fair, those 20 card variations in 4 years are less than the average number of card variations that Topps releases with their standard baseball cards in one year nowadays. There were more variations than I realized, but my opinions presented in the previous article still stood. There might be more than just those 20, but I couldn’t find any more information. But, after the publication, I found out due to sheer luck that there was more to this story.Īfter scrolling down the TCDB, I found out that in the 4 years in which Topps released a version of this card game, there were a total of 20 different “variations” to the cards, meaning that it wasn’t just one, base, and basic design each year. The card game was forgotten and discarded due to poor execution, planning, and variety in the cards. When I finished my article about how to fix the “Topps Attax Baseball” series, I felt content with what I had written, and I technically still do.
